National Student Safety Survey: Your Voice Matters.
Roy Morgan is proud to conduct the National Student Safety Survey (NSSS) on behalf of Universities Australia.
The NSSS gives eligible university students an opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives on sexual violence or harm. Students do not need to have experienced sexual violence or harm to take part.
All student experiences matter. Every response helps build a clearer picture of student wellbeing in Australia. By taking part, students are helping to:
- improve support services
- strengthen prevention efforts, and
- shape safer campuses for all students.
This is an opportunity for all students to be heard and to be part of change.

If you receive an invitation, we encourage you to consider taking part.
Participation is voluntary and confidential. If you choose to participate, your experiences and perspectives can help inform positive change and contribute to safer campuses for current and future students.
Students enrolled at one of Universities Australia’s 38 member universities have the opportunity to complete the 2026 survey. The survey aims to ensure all student voices are heard, including women, men and gender-diverse students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, undergraduate, postgraduate, vocational and research students, students from LGBTQIA+ communities, students with disabilities, students from culturally and racially marginalised backgrounds, domestic and international students.
If you are a student aged 16 years or older, who was currently enrolled onshore in a course on 30 June 2026 at a participating university, you will receive an email from Roy Morgan inviting you to complete the survey.
Check your emails between 31 August and 14 September for your invitation. Once you have received your invitation, you can click on the link within it to start your survey. Alternatively, click the image below to visit the NSSS Participate page and enter the unique code from your invitation email to begin.
Your wellbeing is the priority. If the topics raised in the survey cause you any distress, you can access 24/7 free and confidential support from trained counsellors by calling the National Student Safety Survey Counselling Line on 1800 572 224. The Counselling Line is a dedicated service established to support anyone affected by topics covered in the survey, including participants seeking support for themselves, or guidance on supporting others. The Counselling Line is independently provided by Full Stop Australia.
